About

Hi! I’m Cindy, and this blog has been a long time coming.

I’m originally from Houston Texas, and I attended college at the University of Texas at Austin. The day I graduated, I decided to count up all the unique Austin restaurants and food trailers I had eaten at over the past four years. I had been keeping a running list, because 1. I’m obsessed with lists and 2. I love food. So, what was the number? About 230+. It was at that moment when I first realized, “Shoot. I really should’ve started a food blog.”

Cindy-5-2Now fast forward a bit…I moved to New York, NY, and I remember thinking, “Oh! This is my chance to start over and blog about all the restaurants I go to from the get go!” Well, you guessed it…I didn’t do it. After a few months of overloading my Instagram with food photos, it finally got through to me that it’s now or never. Third time’s the charm right?

You can expect new posts on Tuesdays and Thursdays, and all photos are taken by me with my iPhone. If you ever want to reach out, you can email me at chowdowncity@gmail.com, find me on Twitter @cindybrz, or follow me on Pinterest.

  1. Hi Cindy,
Glad to have found you! My brother lives in NYC and I’m visiting in a couple of weeks’ time – will need all the food recommendations I can get! Thanks 🙂

    • Hey Gabriella! I’m glad you found me too! I’ll have a bunch more posts by the time your trip comes around, but if you’re ever looking for something and you can’t find it here just let me know! I still have a lot of catching up to do so there’s a chance I’ve been somewhere else you might’ve heard about or are looking into 🙂
