When a few of my coworkers and I realized that the wait was going to be too long at Laut, we decided to just pick a random place nearby to get lunch. Edo Sushi was super close, and since we were already in the mood for Asian food we said why not!
This is another one of those tales where stumbling into a place turned out to be a very positive experience. Edo Sushi has GREAT lunch specials. You can either get a bento box (which comes with soup or salad), different sashimi lunches, or the roll lunch special, where you can choose between either having 2 or 3 rolls (each option being a different price). I decided to get 3 rolls, because it was only….drum roll please…$12! What a steal!! I’ve never had sushi for THAT cheap. The other lunch options were all around that same price or less, like $10, so it’s really a fantastic deal for Japanese food. Even better is that the rolls you have to choose from for the lunch special aren’t boring or plain, which can sometimes be the case. For example there are options like white tuna cucumber jalapeno, salmon mango, and chicken tempura right along with favorites like the California roll and the philly roll.
I ordered a shrimp tempura roll, a spicy crunch tuna roll, and a yellowtail scallion roll, tuna and yellowtail being two of my favorite sushi options. Since I normally only order 2 rolls whenever I have sushi for dinner, I was completely stuffed after this lunch.
This will definitely be my go-to sushi lunch spot…you just can’t beat that deal!
